Anne Vickman has been writing since she was old enough to hold a Crayola marker in her fat little fingers. Her first diary was a pink Sanrio–it had a lock and key and was soon filled with pink and purple chicken scratch about her smelly older brother and life in the sticks. Now, she writes in a black Moleskine with a blue pen (but continues to write about boys and nature).

Vickman began writing after jumping head first into the live music scene in Boulder, Colorado. After that, writing album and show reviews became her passion, followed by stints at alt weeklies and magazines, mostly covering lifestyle. After a two-years as the editor of Boston Weddings magazine, Vickman spent time as a freelance writer based in Boston while managing social media for the Craft Beer Cellar, a locally owned and revered craft beer store. Vickman has also written for several local business including Rue La LaRefine + Focus, and The Good Ones.

Vickman currently lives in Red Hook, a lovely neighborhood on the west side of Brooklyn, and is braving new career territory at an awesome new email marketing company called Robly.

Vickman graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Humanities and holds a masters in Writing and Publishing from Emerson College in Boston. Her work has appeared in Boston magazine, Boston WeddingsBoston Home, the Boston Globe Magazine, the Boston PhoenixBeer Advocate, the Boston Herald5280 magazine, Denver Magazine, the Boulder Weekly, and more. In her spare time, she enjoys running (actually, she doesn’t enjoy it that much), aerial arts, biking, arts and crafts projects, craft beer, and listening to music.
